The process is painful yes but they do bounce back fairly quickly. I give them a pain med too.
Here they are after disbudding :( poor sorry things.
The triplets will be disbudded sometime next week.

yuck, I disbudded today, too... don't like it abit!
it was the disbudding day - I know of at least 2 others who disbudded today too. Lots of sore babies tonight.
I'm glad we don't have to do it ourselves, we have the vet do it but we haven't had any goat kids since 2007 though and not breeding anymore right now.
